Transferring domains from Purple Cloud

You can transfer your domains away from Purple Cloud free of charge at any time. First, you must decide what type of transfer you require:

1. A name server change: this simply moves control of the hosting (email and website) for your domain to another provider. You will continue to manage and renew the domain registration through Purple Cloud.
2. A full transfer: this moves control of the domain registration to the new service provider. We will have nothing to do with the domain after this type of transfer.

Name server change

You can change the name servers for your domain at any time using My Purple Cloud. The change will take 24-48 hours to take effect.

Please note that after this change we will no longer control the hosting for your domain.

Full transfer for .uk domains

Simply enter the tag name for your new service provider in My Purple Cloud.

Full transfer for gTLD domains (.com, .net, etc.)

Your new service provider will need to initiate the process for this type of transfer, but you will first need to do the following:

1. Make sure the transfer lock for your domain is released.
2. Check that the registrant and administrative contact details for your domain are correct. As part of the transfer process authorisation requests will be sent via email to these contacts.
3. For .org, .biz and .info domains, you must also obtain the transfer key for the domain (your new service provider will need this).

All of these tasks can be performed from My Purple Cloud.
